Friends and family — I have a confession to make. For the past eight weeks, I've been sneaking off to improv comedy class, learning to think on my feet, say "yes, and," and make things up as I go. And now it's time to prove I actually learned something. This Friday, I'll be performing in a live Improv Comedy Graduation Showcase at the June Bug Center in Floyd, Virginia. No scripts. No rehearsed lines. Just pure, unfiltered improvised comedy — and yes, you're invited to watch. The best part? It's completely free. All you have to do is show up and be ready to laugh (and maybe cringe just a little on my behalf).

🎭 What Is Improv Comedy?
Improv is live, unscripted comedy where performers create scenes, characters, and stories entirely in the moment — no notes, no rehearsed lines, no safety net. Every show is different, anything can happen, and the results are (hopefully!) hilarious. We've spent eight weeks training for exactly this kind of beautiful, joyful chaos.
This showcase marks the end of an intensive 8-week improv comedy course — and honestly, it's been one of the most fun and surprisingly challenging things I've done in a while. I've learned to listen differently, react quickly, and trust the moment. Now we take it to the stage. I'd love to see some familiar faces in the audience cheering us on. Come out for a free Friday night laugh — it's good for the soul.

The Blacksburg class from the same program is performing their own graduation showcase on Saturday at 7 PM at McClain's at First & Main (upstairs event space) in Blacksburg — another great option if you want a double dose of laugh-out-loud comedy this weekend!
