Join us for a captivating journey through time as we explore the art of preserving memories and creating lasting legacies. Workshop 1: "Legacy in Words: Crafting Personal & Family Stories" - Saturday, August 16 from 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm - Help participants craft and share meaningful personal/family stories using proven narrative structures. 1. Focus on personal narrative construction using story arcs, Pixar's storytelling elements, and hero's journey framework. 2. Hands-on storyboarding exercises for family history preservation. 3. Techniques for transforming memories into compelling narratives.
Workshop 2: "The Storyteller's Presence: Voice, Body, and Brain" - Saturday, August 16 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm - Improve storytelling performance through body, brain, and voice awareness. 1. Master focal points and visualization techniques. 2. Explore VAK communication styles and charismatic delivery. 3. Understanding neurochemistry in audience engagement. 4. Voice modulation and tonal mastery exercises
Workshop 3: "Breathing LIfe into Characters: Archetypes and Improv"- Saturday, September 20 from 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm - Create dynamic characters and co-create stories using group input and improv. 1. Character development through classical archetypes. 2. Balancing ethos, pathos, and logos in character creation. 3. Improv exercises for spontaneous storytelling. 4. Collaborative story-building activities where participants build narratives together
Workshop 4: "Tales Reimagined: From Ancient Wisdom to Modern Magic"- Saturday, September 20 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm- Explore different traditional and personal story forms and adapt them to modern voices. 1. Exploring fairytales, folktales, myths, and legends. 2. Hands-on exercises in modernizing classic tales. 3. Creating fractured and adapted folk narratives. 4. Understanding cultural storytelling traditions and their contemporary relevance
Workshop 5: "Bringing It All Together - Story Craft Lab" - Saturday, October 18 from 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm - Integrate the elements from previous workshops into one polished storytelling experience. 1. Apply everything you've learned to draft and rehearse a story
2. Build your performance story with feedback and coaching. 3. Work in small groups for feedback and refining.
"Storytelling Showcase and Celebration" - Saturday, October 18 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm - Share your story in a relaxed, supportive setting. Celebrate diverse voices and the power of the oral tradition. This session is free of charge and open to anyone.
